Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely! If your event has already passed, or if you prefer a studio-focused process for your piece, Nanaki would be love to produce you a custom commissioned artwork. Please reach out via the Inquiry page under the Studio Commissions dropdown for further details on studio pricing and availability.
-
While Nanaki would love to paint for every request she receives, as she can only service one live event per day, dates during peak wedding and gala seasons fill up fast. As a result, it is generally recommended that you secure your date 6 months in advance or as soon as your venue is officially locked in.
If your event is sooner, please submit your inquiry ASAP! If Nanaki has the date open, she’d love to make it happen.

Atelier Virdee is based in Mississauga, but Nanaki is happy to travel. Travel up to 50 km outside Mississauga is included in the price and any further may incur a travel fee.
-
For indoor venues, Nanaki needs simply a small spot with low-traffic footprint to station her easel and materials.
For outdoor sessions, she will need a shaded area (such as an outdoor umbrella or tent) to avoid direct sun or rain.
-
If you need to reschedule and Nanaki is available on your new date, your signed contract and 25% booking fee will transfer over seamlessly.
If you shift to a date where Nanaki is already fully booked, the change will be treated as a cancellation. However, to ensure you do not lose your investment, your 25% booking fee can be fully converted into a studio credit. This credit is valid for 6 months from your original event date and can be used toward a studio commission or used toward a future live art event within that same window of time subject to Nanaki's calendar availability.
-
The 25% booking fee required to secure your date is non-refundable, as it holds your exclusive spot on Nanaki's calendar.
Because all other events are turned down for your reserved date, cancellations made between 31 and 60 days of the wedding will require 50% of the total contract amount. Cancellations made within 30 days or less of the event will require the full 100% total. All payments are due immediately upon notice of cancellation.
For cancellations made prior to the 60-day window, your 25% booking fee is forfeited but will be converted into a studio credit. This credit is valid for 6 months from your original event date toward a custom studio commission piece.

For Live Wedding Paintings, Nanaki uses Liquitex Heavy Body Professional grade paints with a slow-dry blending medium to create polished, smooth-textured pieces. The paints are also archival quality, meaning that the final product will last in its original colours for generations to come.
For Live Portraits, Nanaki uses premium watercolours and fine ink pens to create sophisticated, hand-drawn guest favors.

Nanaki will dress in a way that blends in with the guests and respects the dress code of your event. These details will be touched on briefly during the consultation.
